About our menu
At Lyckorna the menu is smaller, with mussels as the main feature, and uncomplicated, clean flavours.
My ambition is to make fantastic food without any fuss, additives or artificial flavour enhancers. Food that tastes great, is good for you and works well from an environmental point of view.
We like organic as well as good food, and depending on the season we get a lot from smaller farms. Swedish produce takes precedence over organic, but we love it if it’s both those things. We always buy Swedish cream and other dairy produce, but of course the odd French cheese can find its way on to the menu if it’s really good. Eggs are always organic, as well as sugar and flour. We’re always on the lookout for new and exciting local suppliers, so if you think you fit that bill, do get in touch.
As you know, our menu makes mussels the star of the show, and some of the dishes that guests come back for again and again include our creamy mussel risotto with natural saltiness from the mussel stock, and a touch of heat from chilli, topped with extra mature Swedish prästost cheese from Sivans Osthandel.
Another favourite is our panko fried mussels with home made chutney and aioli.
New for this year is our fantastic fish and chips with pickled red onion, salad and aioli, specially for those not totally enamoured of mussels yet.
The menu changes both regularly and sometimes just when I feel like it, depending on what’s available at that time.
We collaborate with several producers in A Taste of West Sweden and Locally Produced in the West, and I want to develop this more when it comes to food and drink here at Musselbaren, going forwards.
I love working with vegetables and creating vegetarian dishes as well, and you will always find something green to choose on the menu.
Really looking forward to seeing you here!
