Aboard the M/S Märta, you’ll join us out on the fjord where we find the vast mussel farms. On the way, the skipper shares the history of the old spa resort at Lyckorna. Once among the impressive cultivation rigs, you’ll receive an in-depth introduction to both farming techniques and the life of the blue mussel, while also getting to know some of the fjord’s other important marine inhabitants.
Back at Musselbaren, we prepare freshly harvested mussels together in our mussel pan and enjoy them in the historic clock tower at Lyckorna, Ljungskile. We are used to adapting to weather conditions, special requirements, and other requests such as timing, group size, and additional activities like sauna visits or tastings.

Pricing and arrangements
Up to 12 people
Join us on our boat M/S Märta on the fjord outside Lyckorna. We enjoy fika while hearing the story of Robert McFie’s vision of making Lyckorna a renowned seaside resort. We visit the extensive mussel farming rigs. Back on land, we cook the mussels together and enjoy them in the old clock tower, where moules frites are served with bread, aioli, coffee, and dessert.
Prices
Open Saturday expeditions on selected dates (May–October):
1200 SEK per person, including the expedition with lectures on mussels, the sea, and food, fika on board, and a mussel dinner with dessert (drinks not included).
Private charter (any day and time):
10,000 SEK + 400 SEK per person, including the above.
